Welcome to the Side Kick Class program. This
is a martial arts program designed for 4-6 year old children to learn in an
atmosphere of positive reinforcement. It will encourage advancement through
positive motivation. The children will learn valuable lessons far beyond the
physical aspect of the martial arts. Some of these lessons will begin to teach
respect, responsibility, goal setting and leadership skills.
The sidekick class will be focused around fun
and fitness. 4-6 year olds need to have fun in order to keep their motivation
and retention. Their attention span generally less than 20 minutes for any
one activity. This
age group requires emphasis on the development of their gross motor skills:
balance, coordination and strength.
This program will work in making your child
feel good about themselves: developing their confidence and self-esteem. The
activities will begin to instill the qualities of becoming a leader rather than
a follower. All along the way they will be starting to learn physical forms
that will be the foundation in learning the true martial arts.
